When Shande Contreras graduated from Bridgeport High School in 2023, he didn’t waste any time diving into his future. In fact, he was already juggling a full plate — college, work, and not one, but two small businesses.

For Jadon Maddux, Bridgeport, Texas, isn’t just a hometown—it’s a legacy. As a third-generation graduate of Bridgeport High School, Jadon’s roots run deep in the district. With both his parents and grandparents having attended Bridgeport schools, his educational journey was more than just academics and athletics—it was about family, tradition, and community.

At the Feb. 10 board meeting, the Bridgeport ISD Board of Trustees called a $211.6 million single-proposition bond election for May 2025. The proposal includes construction of a new high school on district-owned land, capital improvements and the purchase of buses and vehicles for student transportation.

Haley Barton credits her teachers and the rigor of classes at Bridgeport Independent School District with fueling her vision to become a pilot. Salutatorian for the Class of 2020, Barton is currently in pilot training in Mesa, Arizona, and engaged to be married.

Bridgeport Middle School will be hosting the upcoming Title III Parent, Family and Community Engagement Event on Thursday, January 30 12:30pm - 2:00pm. Topic: Fostering Statewide Community Connections for families of EB students.

At the Jan. 13 board meeting, a group of 55 community members who served on a Strategic Planning committee during the fall, recommended that the Board of Trustees call a School Bond Election for May 3, 2025.
