Horn Named BIS Assistant Principal for 2026-2027

Bridgeport ISD is proud to announce the appointment of Megan Horn as the new Assistant Principal of Bridgeport Intermediate School (BIS), effective July 1, 2026. A veteran educator with a deep-rooted commitment to the district, Mrs. Horn transitions into this leadership role following five years of dedicated service as a teacher at BIS.

Mrs. Horn’s tenure at Bridgeport ISD is defined by a "students-first" philosophy. During her time at BIS, she has been a cornerstone of the academic community, serving as the Team Lead for Curriculum and Instruction and a 5th grade bilingual classroom teacher. Her leadership extended beyond the classroom as a campus teaching mentor and a vital member of the Campus Leadership Team, where she helped spearhead the Professional Learning Community (PLC) process to drive academic excellence.

Her excellence in the field was formally recognized when she was named the 2024-2025 Elementary Teacher of the Year.

"Staying at BIS as an Assistant Principal is deeply meaningful," said Mrs. Horn. "This is my home campus, and I have been a part of this family for many years. I’m honored to serve the students, staff, and families who make this place home to me, and I look forward to the future successes we will accomplish together."
Assistant Superintendent P.J. Giamanco expressed strong support for the appointment, citing Mrs. Horn’s cultural impact and proven track record as a catalyst for student achievement.

"Mrs. Horn truly cares about our students and takes immense pride in the campus she serves," said Giamanco. "We are excited about the vision, leadership, and stability she will continue to bring to BIS in this new capacity."
The district invites parents, students, and community members to join Bridgeport ISD in congratulating Mrs. Megan Horn on her promotion. We look forward to the continued growth and success of Bridgeport Intermediate School under her leadership.
